Goodnight Lovers:
Here are some pics from the goodnight lovers video footage. (www.bild.de). 

The single (released february 11th) will contain a remixed version of Dead of Night by "Electronicat" (french artist), and a remixed version of Goodnight Lovers by "Isan" (UK), as well as an acoustic version of When the Body Speaks by Gareth Jones.  This single will be released in two format: CD and 12'' . A special Red 12'' Limited Edition will be available in Europe.

BBC Documentary Planned
BBC London radio is  working on a documentary about Depeche Mode. It will be 2 hours in duration and is planning to air it in May 2001. Interviews have been secured with Alan Wilder, Vince Clarke, Daniel Miller, and of course, Depeche Mode, who are giving this documentary their full support. Gary Crowley will be presenting the programme.

Dream on Video Shoot:
DM has resurrected its connection to historic Route 66 by using it as the setting for the video of "Dream On," the first single from the group's next album, Exciter, due from Mute/Reprise on May 15. The band first tapped in to that particular stretch of Americana when it released a version of the classic song "Route 66" back in 1988.
Members Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andrew Fletcher joined video director Stephane Sednaoui on the highway in the desert near Barstow, California, for the shoot last weekend (February 17-18). The trio was shot traveling in a black Lincoln Continental through the desolate area, surrounded by its striking vistas. Gahan said in a statement, "Martin and Andrew are my passengers, but the viewer won't know if they're truly in the car with me."

Everyone at Mute is working very hard on all the releases this spring, including Depeche Mode, but we do not have the time or resources to pull this kind of scam, clever as it might be.

We learned from a well informed source that 2 Mute employees in London and 2 others at Reprise are spending their daytime posting fake MP3 tracks of the new Depeche Mode album on the net. In total they would already have spread around 500 (!!) MP3's around the world, making it ridiculous to go and search for the MP3 tracks on Napster and other MP3 harbours. This action has been taken in order to prevent that MP3's pulled from promo copies will find their way to the fans once the press has been serviced. "

ALBUM PROGRESS REPORT :
The band are now back in the studio, and work continues at a frenzied pace during the last three weeks before they turn their attentions to mixing, which will commence on 20th November. Spirits are high and they now have a total of 11 or 12 new songs. The album should be mixed before Christmas.
Drummer Christian Eigner joined the band in the studio recently, and has played on a few tracks. Also, that lanky Dutchman Anton Corbijn has visited with his camera.

Other Info on new album:
Producer - Mark Bell
Extra Musicians Used - a string section (string quartet, and a solo cello). Knox Chandler (the solo cello player) also arranged the quartet. Drums by Christian Eigner.
